Letter from Rec. Commissioners closing Burwood pool

Following is a letter from the Norwood Recreation Commissioners informing Norwood City Council of their decision to close the swimming pool at Burwood Park. The letter appears on tonight’s City Council meeting agenda:

February 25, 2008

Dear Madam President and members of Council,

After many hours of discussion and reviewing attendance statistics, the Norwood Recreation Commissioners have voted to close Burwood Pool. The commissioners plan to use the money budgeted for Burwood and J.B. Wirth-Waterworks Pool for the maintenance. The commissioners have voted to rent Burwood Park out for picnics just as Fenwick and Millcrest can be rented. The commissioners are also working on future renovation ideas for Burwood Park. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Norwood Recreation Commissioners

Scott Faulkner, Tom Kemper
