NEXUS Community Garden offers education open to all
Xavier University has partnered with Norwood and Evanston community members to create a 30-plot community garden behind Xavier’s McGrath Health & Wellness Center on the north side of Cleneay Avenue. The Norwood-Evanston,-Xavier Urban Sustainability (NEXUS) Community Garden launched in April.
NEXUS is a unique project aimed at engaging Norwood and Evanston residents alongside Xavier University students, faculty and staff to grow food, learn about sustainable living, and build community on common ground. The plots are about 8 by 3 feet each and for $25, gardeners will have that space to grow in through the end of October.
From late April through October each year, NEXUS will be a hub of learning and community engagement. Free workshops will be held three times each month through the season and are open to NEXUS members and to the general public. Check this website for the latest details.
