New commenting system named Echo
Several days ago, our free commenting system Haloscan offered us a deal we couldn’t refuse: either cough up $10 annually for the new state-of-the-art system Echo or lose all previous comments in the transition to any other service. Seconds after paying the fee, Echo was installed. We’re still pouring through all the information about Echo’s features, some of which seem so advanced we may never understand them, and see there are several that will enhance discussion among our readers. Now our readers can respond to specific comments by clicking “reply” under any comment. and/or click “like” to give favorable reviews. There’s also the option to publish images in the comment boxes, including your own photo with your comment. Two readers have already used this feature.
Over the holidays we’re going to try to get up to speed on the new system. There appears to be a number of other features we can opt to enable. So far, we like what we see; but more importantly, we’d like to know what our readers think about Echo. Are there any features you’d like to see added for your commenting enjoyment?
