It’s official: new Health Commissioner starts June 1

The Norwood Health Board met Monday and established Monday, June 1, as the date Pamela Walker-Bauer will assume her duties as our new Health Commissioner. We are officially relieved the position is filled, especially in view of the potential public health threat posed by the recent swine flu outbreak. Our Norwood Health Department staff has been keeping current about the outbreak via conference calls with the Ohio Department of Health, the Emergency Management Agency and other agencies, but we welcome Ms. Walker-Bauer’s timely arrival and the expertise she will bring to this and all other public health issues in our community.
