90-year old Robert Lindner still works daily at Norwood UDF headquarters

Norwood native Robert Lindner, along with his siblings Carl, Richard, and Dorothy built the home-delivery dairy business their father started into today’s 187-store United Dairy Farmers. Just as he has since 1940, Mr. Lindner still reports to work every day at the company’s headquarters on Montgomery Road. In recognition of his work ethic, stewardship of one of Greater Cincinnati’s biggest companies, and his philanthropy, he Lindner will receive the 2010 Carl H. Lindner Award for Entrepreneurial and Civic Spirit today at a Music Hall Ballroom luncheon. This Enquirer article has a lot of interesting facts about the Lindner family and the early days of UDF, a “cash and carry” that sold milk for 28 cents per gallon.
