TOP program allows real estate taxes to paid in installments

In 1997, Hamilton County Treasurer Robert A. Goering started the Treasurer’s Optional Payment (TOP) program. Currently 13,000 commercial and residential property owners are enrolled. The TOP program enables property owners to prepay their January and June tax bills in installments without any service charges. Anyone who enrolls now would receive 4 coupons in August to begin paying off the January, 2011 tax bill in 5 installments. The 5th installment due would be reflected on the January tax bill, which would show the 4 previously made payments.
