Biz Courier: EMD Chemicals to lay off 55

EMD Chemicals’ Norwood distribution facility on Highland Avenue will be laying off about 1/3 of its employees, about 55 total, in November. According to the director of corporate communications at the company’s New Jersey headquarters, the facility is going from a 3-shift model to a 1-shift model, and the job cuts are being made to make the site more efficient and competitive.
