Siemens celebrates completed $30 million expansion

According to Mayor Tom Williams at last night’s council meeting, he and most of Norwood’s elected and appointed officials attended Siemens Energy & Automation’s Open House celebration Monday. Also among the 100 guests were Gov. Strickland, U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt, and Ohio Rep. Tyrone Yates. Dennis Sadlowski, president and CEO of Siemens Energy & Automation, told today’s Enquirer, “The expanded facility has shortened the distance a motor travels in the plant through the manufacturing process from six miles to two miles. That helps us deliver the motors to our customers more quickly.” The Norwood facility employs more than 400 people and assembles and tests large electric motors used in industrial and factory automation.
