Cincy Biz Blog: “Take Away Days” offers free design scraps

Starting this Saturday, August 28 and every Saturday through September 25, except for Labor Day weekend, artists, educators and others will be able to pick up free materials at Linden Pointe from 9:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the small, freestanding, triangle building at 4801 Montgomery Road. The materials will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, with no limits on how much you can take. They include items like carpet tiles, upholstery swatches, ceramic tiles, plastic laminates and paint chips, wallcovering books and three-ring binders.

ZEROlandfill Cincinnati, sponsor of the event, is a community wide program designed to divert waste from local landfills and promote repurposing of unused materials. Architecture and design firms and manufacturer’s reps are donating expired materials from their libraries. Last year’s event diverted more 70,000 pounds of material from the landfill.
