Xavier Presents Advent Lessons and Carols

Xavier University’s department of music will present its annual Advent Lessons and Carols Service in Bellarmine Chapel on the Xavier campus at 7:30 pm on December 5. This service is free and open to the public.

The service borrows its format from similar lessons and carols celebrations with roots in Anglican Britain. Advent lessons are read, and each is followed by a short hymn sung by all present. Music will be led by Xavier’s vocal ensembles under the direction of Tom Merrill, chair and associate professor of music; and liturgical choirs, under the direction of Scot Buzza, liturgical music coordinator. Lesson readers are coordinated by Xavier campus minister Kelly Albany-Jenei.

For more information, contact Tom Merrill at merrillt@xu.edu or 513-745-3135.
